Open burning, campfires outside designated fire grates, and the use of explosive fireworks are prohibited. Violations may result in fines up to $600.<\/p>\n<p>Boulder County has partnered with the cities of Boulder, Longmont, Lafayette, and Louisville on this project. Combined investment across all jurisdictions totals $100,000, making it one of the largest collaborative efforts in the county&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p>For questions about this program, contact Lisa Patel at Public Health: (303) 441-2608 or email Public Health@bouldercounty.gov. Walk-in services are available at the Erie office without an appointment.<\/p>\n<h3>Next Steps<\/h3>\n<p>The program is modeled after similar successful initiatives in Larimer County and Jefferson County. Boulder County&#8217;s version includes additional provisions for wildfire mitigation, affordable housing, and environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The Board of County Commissioners will review progress on this initiative at their June 17 business meeting.
